CASHMERE TECHNICAL FC TEAM SELECTIONS : 10^TH - 17^TH GRADES, YOUTH AND GIRLS 2025

If you are interested in being considered to play in one of our Pre-Academy teams, Girls Academy teams or 13th Grade Boys Academy team you need to come along to our age group team selection sessions.

If you are interested in being considered to play in one of our Development, A Band, Division 1 and Division 2 teams, you need to come along to our age group team selection sessions.

Our Team Selection sessions are a way for our coaching staff to observe you playing and place you in an appropriate team for the season.

All other players who don’t wish to attend team selections or who don’t get selected for an Academy, A Band, Div 1 or 2 team will be put into teams as soon as possible once registration is closed.  Please register for the season early to be sure of a place. 

We are running separate sessions if your player wants to trial as a Goal Keeper. They are welcome to come to the outfield trials too. 

We also have 10^th to 16^th Grade Girls only teams, with separate sessions for those players also.

Please note the following:

• You should attend the team selection for your age group and grade determined by your Year of Birth ; 10^th Grade (2015), 11^th Grade (2014), 12^th Grade (2013), 13^th Grade (2012), 14^th Grade (2011), 15^th Grade (2010).17^th (2008 and 2009).
• Girls 10^th (2015), 12^th (2013 and 2014), 14^th (2011 and 2012), 16^th (2009 and 2010)
• Girls have the option of attending age group team selection if they want to play in a mixed team, or the girls’ team selection if they want to play in a girl’s only team.

 Team Selection sessions are only a small part of our process for putting our teams together. They give us an opportunity to see all of our players in one environment to see how they have developed over the past year and gives all players an opportunity to impress.  We also use lots of different coaches to assess players at our Team Selection sessions and then collate scores to ensure there is as no bias in selections.  

When selecting team’s we also take in to consideration feedback from their previous years coach as well as players performances at tournaments, CTFC Academy development training attendance and feedback from Academy development coaches.

All final selection decisions will be made by the Director of Football.

Team selection:

• 10^th, 11^th and 12^th grades will comprise of a ‘city wide’ competition with 8 different bands.
• These grades will play in groups of 6 teams. Every 5 weeks (one round played) the grades will be shuffled with two teams moving up and two teams moving down. The groups will not be split by geography. This may be different depending on the number of entries at each band.
• In 13^th – 17^th grades, we will be entering an Academy team into the Canterbury Development League, and 1 or more in Division 1 (depending on league structure).
• In Girl’s grades, we will aim to choose one or more competitive teams in each grade, depending on the final league structure. We will also select a 14^th and a 16^th Grade Girls Academy team.

We will be posting team selections on our website by the end of February / early March.
